Players should, however, always consider how each card fits into their current hand when selecting cards from the draw or discard piles. It might be more advantageous to draw from the pile if the card you pick up doesn't add to any of your current runs or sets. The possible consequences of selecting a card from the discard pile should also be taken into account.
