Ethan "Rampage" Yau has been brutally honest about his struggles this year and they continued on poker’s biggest stage.
The popular vlogger, who’s down more than $350,000 in 2025 and averaging an eye-watering $850 an hour in losses, couldn't even survive a single level in the WSOP Main Event, busting on Day 1d.
Last month, Yau admitted he was “ready to quit” three weeks into the 2025 World Series of Poker and the nightmare has showed no signs of slowing down.

By the start of May, Rampage was already down more than $300,000, mostly at the cash game tables, A $40K upswing in May provided temporary relief, but the summer in Vegas quickly sent his bankroll spiraling again.

Yau’s monthly results show the severity of the cash game losses early in the year. The high-stakes cash game grind left Yau chasing losses heading into the WSOP, where the tournament results offered little reprieve.

Rampage isn't the only player to share that he's in the red. Poker pro and cash game specialist Matt Berkey, no stranger to variance himself, chimed in on Yau’s post, revealing that his own losses sit at $1.53 million for the year.

Despite a packed summer schedule that included the WSOP, the Wynn Summer Classic, and Venetian DeepStack events, Yau's only managed $182,925 in total tournament cashes this year, the smallest figure he's posted since shifting to playing more tournaments in 2021.
Even so, he did cross the $3 million mark in lifetime live tournament earnings this summer, according to The Hendon Mob, though cashes don’t always equal profit.
